Douglas Emilio, Assoc. AIA is a design professional located in New York.
For the last thirty-one years, he has led complex adaptive reuse and exterior envelope projects for public and private clients. He is adept at master plan development and large-scale condition assessments, as well as fine-grained preservation and conservation projects. His organizational skills allow him to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously. He has integrated new technology into the firm's practice, allowing for more accurate fieldwork and better collaboration with clients.
Projects that he has been directly responsible for have won awards from the New York State and Westchester + Hudson Valley Chapters of the American Institute of Architects and the Brick Industry Association and have been recognized by McGraw Hill Construction.
He is also a member of the American Institute of Architects, the Association of Preservation Technology, the International Council on Monuments and Sites, and the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants. He is the chairperson of the Hastings-on-Hudson Architectural Review Board, serves on the board of the Westchester County Historical Society, and served as a board member with the Friends of the Old Croton Aqueduct (FOCA) for many years. He lives in the Hudson River Valley region of New York State with his family.
